At KATA, we are building more than just elite athletes - we're cultivating futures. The KATA (Kenyan Athletics Training Academy) Running Camps are high-performance training hubs designed to identify and nurture distance running talent across Kenya. Located in rural high-altitude regions known for producing champions, each camp provides structured coaching, daily training schedules, housing, and nutrition, creating an ideal environment for young athletes to grow and thrive.
But KATA is not just about running. Each camp is paired with a KATA Potato Farm - starting at 3 acres, with some locations expanding further. These farms not only provide fresh food and work experience for our athletes, but also help fund the camps through sustainable agriculture. Athletes work up to 25 hours per week on the farm, gaining life skills while contributing to a self-sustaining training model.
Our camps are managed by experienced former athletes and coaches, with oversight from KATA Director and Founder Bob Anderson, a lifelong runner and founder of Runner's World magazine. Whether you're looking to partner, invest, or support emerging talent, KATA Running Camps and Potato Farms represent a bold new approach to athletics development - rooted in performance, purpose, and community.
Together, we're growing champions - from the soil to the finish line.
